WWW Wednesday – 27th September 2017

Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday post, a meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words. This is my first WWW post since September, and first post at all this year(!), but I’ve been very busy with my masters degree so I’ve had to take a step back from my blog. I have several reviews waiting to be written when I get chance, and I’m going to try to post WWW Wednesday and general reading update posts a little bit more regularly.

Please go and have a look at everyone else is reading and make sure you post your own WWW in the comments so I can have a look.

The premise of the post is quite simple – answer the three Ws:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I’m between books at the minute, but I’m about to get started on The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter. I’ve never read anything by Karin Slaughter before, although I’ve always heard good things. I was lucky enough to win this through Goodreads Giveaways a while ago, and I’m excited to finally have the time to read it.

What did you recently finish reading?

I’ve just finished reading The Making of Us by Lisa Jewell, which I loved, as I do all of her books. The characters were so realistic and the story so intricate and intriguing that I just loved it. This was my fifth Lisa Jewell book and I can’t wait to read more.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have a list as long as my arm of things to read next, but I think I’ll probably go for The Noise of Time by Julian Barnes. It’s been sat at the side of my bed for a long time, and is about my favourite composer Shostakovich, so I can’t wait to finally get stuck in.

I really like the cover of the Making of Us. I have read two books by Lisa and they were both thrillers. This looks a bit different but glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I will check it out.

The Good Daughter has so many wonderful reviews. I hope that you will like it too. Happy reading 🙂

Congratulations on winning a Goodreads giveaway! I keep entering but haven’t won one yet. My mum has Karen Slaughter books around the house when I visit, but I haven’t picked one up either. I hope you enjoy! I always notice A Noise in Time when I’m in bookstores and nearly bought it but I don’t actually know much about it! Enjoy your reads!
