Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday post, a meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words. Please go and have a look at everyone else is reading and make sure you post your own WWW in the comments so I can have a look.
The premise of the post is quite simple – answer the three Ws:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I’ve just started Local Girl Missing by Claire Douglas. So far I’m enjoying it, although around 10% in, it’s reminding me so much of The Sister by Louise Jenson. Both the scenario and the flashbacks are very similar. Although I really enjoyed The Sister, I’m hoping the similarities don’t continue.
What did you recently finish reading?
I finished The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah in one big sweep at the weekend. It’s the first book I’ve read in a long time where I was really sad for it to end. I found myself putting it down for an hour as I wanted to draw it out. It’s a truly beautiful, tragic and moving novel. Look out for my review on Friday!
What do you think you’ll read next?
My plans changed suddenly on Monday when I received an email from NetGalley saying my request for The Girl by Jack Jordan had been approved. I’ll be honest and say I completely forgot that I’d requested it, so now it’s jumped straight to the top of my TBR. After that, I’ll be ready for something non-thriller, so I’ll probably go for The Reader on the 6:27 by Jean-Paul Didierlaurent.
Can’t wait for your review of The Nightingale!!

I’m not a fan of historical fiction but I keep hearing so many good things about The Nightingale that I may have to rethink. Glad you enjoyed.

I really hope you enjoy The Reader on the 6.27. Don’t be put off if it seems a bit depressing to start with… it soon picks up 🙂 A really good thing to read after thrillers!

It’s happening again! You’ll probably find my first comment in spam. I’m truly annoyed with WP!
Anyway, I enjoyed The Sister, too, and have had my eye on Local Girl Missing. I LOVED The Nightingale. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
